do lean cuisines have gluten

hi everyone and welcome to nicko's kitchen's fast food, today we are going to be making a super quick, healthy burger! let's get started! (singing): he's got budget meals monday, what you want wednesday, fast food friday, what else could he share? it's nicko's kitchen, where satisfying meals are prepared. (rob): so guys, our healthy beef burgers. so easy to do, so fast and it is super healthy. you're gonna love this. now, what we're gonna be doing first is making our beef patties.

and i'm going to be loading this up with some vegetables and we're really gonna enhance those beef patties with some beautiful vegetables. now, you can use whatever you want for this, these are the ones i've chosen. we've got some celery, we've got some onion, we've got some carrot, garlic, i've got some fresh coriander or cilantro. if you want to use parsley, use parsley, if you want to use mint then use mint, it is up to you. and we're gonna be using some lemon zest as well, it's gonna be absolutely gorgeous. so just into a bowl, what i've done with our vegetables is just shredded them up finely, just cut them up finely like that.

and i'm just gonna add them all in at one time. so we've got our carrot, celery, onion, garlic in there, fresh garlic. now for our cilantro - or our coriander - we're gonna have some lemon zest in there as well, get that happening. now i'm gonna be adding in some of these corn crumbs, just to give it a little bit of body, just a little bit extra body and these are gluten free, very very good for you. if you can't get these or you don't want to use them, breadcrumbs will be fine for this and i'm just going to add a little bit in. we're going to season really well with salt and also some pepper as well. and i'm just going to give that a quick mix around, get those ingredients combined.

now, very importantly. the beef - the ground beef or the mince beef - must be extra, extra lean, okay? we don't want fat in there. we're trying to keep this as healthy as possible, so i'm gonna be adding in my ground beef and this is probably a 90 - 10 split. so it's 90% beef and 10% fat, which isn't a lot. just to help combine it all i'm also going to just add in an egg and just using a fork i'm just going to mix this around. i want to keep this as light as possible. i don't want to over mix it and make that burger really dense. we want to incorporate everything but not mix the hell out of it. now for our beef patties, i'm just getting a large

ball, just like that. i just want to pat it down and flatten it out, roll it around and there's our beef patty. that's what we're after, so just keep repeating that process with all the beef that you have. so there are our burger patties and now we're going to grill them. okay, so, what we've got here is our griddle pan. now, you can do this outside on the grill, on the barbecue, uh, or go and get one of these griddle pans for inside cooking. they're fantastic to get those char-marks on our burgers if you don't have a barbecue and you don't have one of these pans, just a normal flat, non-stick pan will be fine and i'm just going to put over some grapeseed oil just over the top. and we just wanna get this pan nice and hot, okay? we really want it nice and hot to cook

those burgers and get those beautiful char-marks, that caramelisation on the outside of the burger. so, i'm just gonna place in our beef patties. now i'm gonna cook them about four, four and a half minutes each side. they're quite thick, if you're having yours thinner then obviously, reduce that temperature time. so guys, while our burgers are cooking i'm gonna get started on our dressing that's gonna go with our burger. now, normally with burgers you've got this real high fat mayonnaise. we're gonna do it a little bit differently today. just into a bowl here i've got some greek style yogurt which is a lot healthier and to that i'm gonna add in some fresh mint that i've just cut up finely. i'm gonna add in some smoked paprika.

i'm now gonna add in some cucumber that i've just cut up, just finely. and give that a good mix around. just the flavours in this will be so, so nice. we've got the coolness of the cucumber, the heat of the paprika. and there is our burger dressing. fresh, beautiful. that's all we need. now, in terms of our fillings for our burger, guys, i'm gonna keep it really simple and you can add whatever your heart desires to it as long as it's fresh and clean and healthy for you. i'm using some beautiful vine ripened tomatoes, such a nice juicy flavour to go with the burger, and of course, some iceberg lettuce for a nice refreshing crunch. now of course, our burger buns. now, i'm using today some gluten-free, wheat-free

buns, okay. you don't have to use these, it's just a preference and i'm showing you an alternative that you can actually buy, but hey, let's keep it real. if you want to use a multi-grain bread roll, a rye, a wholemeal it's up to you. so, our burger patties have finished cooking and that's what i'm after. so guys, there you have it, there's my fast, healthy burgers. three words that usually don't go together. alright, let's get stuck into this burger, shall we? it looks so good. here we go. (rob moans at the taste of the burgers) you know, that is beautiful. mmm. that burger patty with that lemon and mint

mixed in that yogurt we had that we made. it's gorgeous! absolutely gorgeous. and so healthy for you. there's nothing in this burger that is bad. burgers get such a bad reputation for being greasy and fatty and yuck! make this one, it's just mother nature in a bun, it's gorgeous. give it a go! all the ingredients are below, so check it out and give these a go. everyone is going to love them, i guarantee it. you guys take care, and i'll see you this monday for another budget meals recipe. so until then, you take care!
